The development of this building included a reinforced concrete double basement over the full site and a steel framed super structure - stair cores and lift shafts. The double basement was excavated as a "blue sky" dig with temporary propping to minimise movement of the retaining walls during construction.
The 7 storey hotel is designed as a pod building. The pod building is "structureless" with the pods providing all support within the pod framing.
The project is due to start on site on the 5th January 2010.
