The practice has been involved in numerous educational construction projects, including the expansion and upgrading of 5 of Thomas’s Day Schools in central London, where the key brief was to enhanced the accommodation and provide cutting edge facilities while retaining the façade of the historic buildings.

 

PJCE is currently engaged as structural engineers for the construction of a new Music and ICT facility for Pangbourne College, and has previously completed the design of the Boathouse on the river Thames and the new Boarding Facilities for the school.

PJCE has completed structural designs for a significant number of retail units, including a new showroom for Boffi Kitchens in Knightsbridge, design of spa and salon, Bloww, in Regent Place, Neville’s salon in Belgravia and the John Rocha store in Stafford street, London.

PJCE is currently engaged in the design of a new 220 bed, pod building hotel in Camden, London. The project has a double basement over the full site and requires significant temporary propping.


In addition, the practice is currently engaged in the structural design of a 120 bedroom hotel in Harlesden.

PJCE has been engaged in a wide range of residential developments including both new build and refurbishment. The complexity varies from modernizng terraced housing and general home improvements, to the structural design and development of high end homes, comprising double basements with underground parking and basement swimming pools.


PJCE has extensive experience in basement design, loft conversions and rear extensions.

PJCE has provided the structural design for a leisure centre in Sittingbourne, Kent. The project included re-vibration of the land fill site to provide adequate bearing for foundations and steel frame structures including swimming pools.

PJCE has completed the design for a new mixed use commercial 6 storey reinforced concrete building, with a single basement level in Kensington, London. The project is currently on site with an estimated completion date of July 2010.


The practice has completed numerous commercial premises including steel framed buildings and composite structures.

PJCE has collaborated on the design of a modern extension to a Grade II listed home, maintaining the visual integrity of the building from the roadside, while attaining a great deal of light and space with the use of steel and glass.


PJCE has collaborated with heritage officers to restore many dilapidated listed properties.

The practice regularly undertakes structural matters relating to party wall awards, whether it is acting on behalf of a client seeking an award, or whether it is protecting the interests of clients who are subject to building work being conducted on abutting properties.
