Reconstruction of a locally listed building of merit
The property is a locally listed building of merit located within the St John’s Wood Conservation Area. The project involved the re-construction of the five-storey building to the client’s specification with the addition of a new deep basement below the existing lower ground floor.
PJCE designed the structure so that the temporary works could be minimised by constructed a new steel frame within the original building. This frame was then used to prop the retained façade whilst the existing building was dismantled.
