Chigwell School
This single-storey extension was sensitively designed to connect to the existing listed building, while creating a light-filled, modern new space for the new dining room. The full height glazing floods the space with light, while the north elevation minimises heat gain.

Listed building extension: modern dining space with light-filled design and accessibility upgrades
The entrance between the lobby and dining hall was widened to facilitate the flow of people at the busiest periods. To improve accessibility, the floors were uniformly levelled across the space and ramps were installed.
In addition to the new dining space, the project involved integration of the Swallow Room and outdated offices were converted into new toilet facilities.
