Hallmark appointed PJCE to undertake structural and temporary works designs for two modular mixed-use buildings in the heart of Camden, with commercial units at ground and lower-ground floors with a 220-room aparthotel and student accommodation above.

Modern accommodation in the heart of Camden
At ground level the structure was designed to withstand traffic and crane loads, for lifting modular pods into position. PJCE assisted with development of the pods, ensuring walls were modelled and analysed to ensure compliance with building regs.
Specialist probing was required prior to piling to check for unexploded ordnance following bombing to the area in WWII. To create the large double basement, silent sheet piling was used and horizontal steel trusses were installed transfer road loads.
