Vibro-piling improves poor quality landfill ground
PJCE used this technique for the structural design of a new leisure centre in Kent. The site had previously been used for landfill, resuliting in unstable, poor-quality ground. Vibro-compaction was successfully used to improve the load-bearing capacity, avoiding the need for deep piling methods which may have impacted aquifers below.
